When looking for a property for your family, sometimes you will find a home that will not only suit you perfectly for the moment - but perhaps for decades to come. 38 Britomart Street in Bushland Beach, right at the top of the hill, was built by renowned Townsville home builder Michael Case in 2020. This amazing residence features 2 kitchens, multiple living areas, and amazing modern technology, such as 13 kilowatts of solar panels and a Tesla Power Wall System. Come along with Abigail and me as we tour one of Townsville's best homes.
As a former chef it's my privilege to start this tour in my favourite room of the house; the upstairs kitchen. It features 16 soft-close drawers for storage, a five-burner gas stove, stone bench tops and room for a plumbed, family-sized fridge. The outstanding feature we haven't seen anywhere else is the gigantic picture window positioned so that you can do the dishes with a view of the islands. Of course, it wouldn't be a luxury home without a gigantic walk-in pantry.
The best part about this home is that if you have a parent who wants to live with you or an unruly teenager - there is a second kitchen and large living area on the ground level. This will give your family some much needed space whilst keeping your loved ones close by.
The downstairs kitchen also features Smeg appliances, stone benchtops, a gas stove, and a large walk-in pantry. It's perfect for entertaining on the ground level deck, alongside the beautiful magnesium mineral pool.
Even though poolside you're on the lower level - you can still see for miles! This glass- fenced pool was installed by Townsville's best pool builder, Sun City Pools and it includes an efficient heater/chiller, so that you can swim comfortably all year round. We can imagine that everybody will want to come to your house for Christmas lunch every year. The pool area also includes a custom LED-lit screen that looks amazing at night! Please see our video.
You may, however, prefer to entertain upstairs. From the amazing patio here you can see from Castle Hill to Hinchinbrook Island on a clear day. This outdoor space is enjoyable no matter what the weather is doing thanks to a number of automatic blinds which can be raised or lowered at the touch of a button. You may never even eat a meal indoors!
Perhaps the best space in the entire space is the primary suite. All of the bedrooms feature custom window treatments from The Coloured House. This allows you to control your light and privacy completely. From the king-sized bed space you have unobstructed views of the Palm Island Group and due to clever construction design, you can also enjoy those views from the free-standing tub and double headed rain shower. Here you'll also find a double vanity and massive walk-in robe which includes a laundry chute.
All four other bedrooms feature premium plush grey carpet, large built-in wardrobes, and Ash Wood ceiling fans. If you needed a sixth bedroom, you could find space easily in the home office. Whomever gets to work from here can admire Magnetic Island from their desk and they also have a private balcony to enjoy the cool sea breezes off of Halifax Bay.
The family bathroom has a brilliant design with a wet area so that kids splashing in the tub won't make a mess. There is a luxurious freestanding tub and rain shower here. Upstairs you'll also find a powder room perfect for when you are entertaining.

This is paired with a Tesla Powerwall 2 battery system giving you virtually no electricity cost.
