James Hayashi from McGrath Estate Agents shares what buyers should do to stand out to agents for a smoother buying process.
A real estate agent is always on their feet; meeting vendors and buyers, appraising homes, preparing listing campaigns and so much more. They’re constantly meeting buyers at their weekly open homes, so how can you stand out to them and make the most out of your agent?
Be honest
McGrath Sales Manager James Hayashi says, “be transparent with the agent you’re working with.” Being a confident buyer and knowing what you what, how much you want to spend and being prepared with your pre-approval finance will make the buying process much smoother for both parties.
Know what you need
So. always come to an agent prepared with all the information and details an agent may need to find you a suitable property. When you find an agent you work well with, be upfront with them, keep an open dialogue, and always update them on what you’re looking for if it changes. Having this preparation will also open the door to off-market properties that might not necessarily end up on their listing portals.
So the key takeaway here is, know what you want, and be open with your agent.
